The History of MetLife Stadium

Once upon a time, the New York Giants had their own stadium in New Jersey. Giants Stadium, not-so-affectionately referred to as “the Swamp”, was beginning to show its age, though, and after 3 decades of hosting both the Giants and the New York Jets, it was time for a new stadium.

Originally, the Giants were going to get a stadium on Manhattan’s West Side, but the owners of Madison Square Garden decided to run them out of town because they didn’t want the competition.
