About Truist Park
SunTrust Park
SunTrust Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, is one of the newest sports stadiums in the country. Opening at the start of the 2017 season, SunTrust Park quickly gained a reputation for being both a hitter-friendly and fan-friendly ballpark. The stadium has a number of modern amenities for fans, most notably WiFi that operates at high speeds even when the park is full of smartphone users.
Best Places to Sit at SunTrust Park
Like most stadiums, it’s tempting at SunTrust Park to get as close to the action as possible. Sections 17-21, behind the home dugout, and Sections 31-34, behind the visiting dugout, are some of the best seats in the house. Meanwhile, Sections 25-27 give you a close view of the field from directly behind home plate. Section 124 does the same thing, except with a little bit of elevation. Finally, there are several areas of Club Seating at SunTrust Park in case you want to pass on buying the cheapest Braves tickets available and splurge on amenities like in-seat food service and access to climate-controlled lounges.
Tips for Visiting SunTrust Park
If you head to a SunTrust Park sports event, don’t be afraid to get there a few hours early. The Battery Atlanta, located adjacent to the stadium, is part shopping center and part outdoor park, so there's plenty to do nearby before or after the game. You should also make some time inside the park to check out Monument Garden and the accompanying statue of the home run king Hank Aaron.
Keep in mind that parking for SunTrust Park events will be limited. If you don’t want to take public transportation, it’s best to book your parking in advance – most lots don't have much day-of availability.
Food to Try at SunTrust Park
As you’d expect from a new ballpark, there's an abundance of great dining options at the field. The Carvery location inside the park offers what it calls “the Best Darn Sandwich in Baseball" – beef tenderloin with fried onions, arugula, portobello mushrooms, and blue cheese sauce. There's also an utterly massive sandwich called the Blooper Burger, named for the team’s mascot. The “burger” is akin to a footlong sub and includes four hamburger patties, chicken tenders, and a footlong hot dog, not to mention lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeños, and cheese, all in between two large pieces of Texas toast. Needless to say, it’s probably not meant to be consumed by just one person... but you do you.
