About Target Center

Target Center

In the Great White North of Minnesota, there’s one shining beacon of civilization: Minneapolis. There, nestled in the corner of 6th Street and 1st Ave stands the last bastion of fun and games in this barren, frozen wasteland. The Target Center, a 20,0000-seat indoor multi-purpose arena that hosts the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, keeps the winter doldrums at bay for the city’s more than 400,000 freezing inhabitants, praying desperately for climate change to thaw out their home and bring them some relief from the Minnesota cold.

History of the Target Center

Shortly after Minneapolis won its bid for an NBA expansion team, construction on Target Center began to serve as a permanent home for the Timberwolves. The indoor arena opened in 1990 as a result. In 2004 the indoor arena underwent some major renovations to make it friendlier to fans; another reno project in 2015 buffed up Target Center even more by future-proofing it.

What Makes Target Center Events So Special?

Target Center events are fantastic because of how much care and resources venue owners have poured into this little venue over the years. New seating, fan-friendly LED screens, and even a green roof make this venue one to remember. Not only that, but other amenities like multiple restaurants on the inside and touches like well-thought-out disability access make Target Center stand head-and-shoulders above other regional venues in the best way possible.
