About Davis Wade Stadium

Davis Wade Stadium

David Wade Stadium is a college football stadium located on the campus of Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi. It serves primarily as the home of the Mississippi State Bulldogs college football team. The stadium opened in 1914, making it one of the oldest college football venues in the country. The current capacity of David Wade Stadium for football games is over 61,000 fans.

Where are the Best Places to Sit at Davis Wade Stadium

For football games at Davis Wade Stadium, sections 4, 20, and 21 are ideal for fans who want to be close to midfield. Just keep in that these sections have over 50 rows. Seats within the first five rows will have the closest view of the field, while rows 15-20 will offer the best overall vantage point. Meanwhile, sections 117-125 are club-level seats that come with chair backs and access to a climate-controlled lounge. Within this area, sections 119-122 have the best view of the field. Finally, the small collection of 200-level seats on the west of the stadium offers a good view of the entire field and are the best way to stay out of the sun during afternoon games.

Tips for Visiting Davis Wade Stadium

The best place to go before a game at Davis Wade Stadium is a green space south of the stadium called The Junction. This is where fans without cars go to tailgate under tents with room for thousands of fans. It’s largely considered to be one of the best tailgating experiences in the SEC. The Junction is also the site of the “Dawg Walk,” which is when the team walks into the stadium two hours before the game. Outside of tailgating, local restaurants The Little Dooey and The Grill at Central Station are great places to visit before or after a game.

Food to Try at Davis Wade Stadium

For fans who don’t go to a local eatery before a game, Davis Wade Stadium has several concessions worth trying. Junction BBQ on the main concourse has excellent pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches. Outside of the good southern barbecue that’s available at the stadium, the fried chicken sandwiches are the next best thing on the menu. Finally, don’t sleep on the beef, pork, and chicken tacos available at Stark Tacos.
