About Busch Stadium

Busch Stadium

In 2006, the St. Louis Cardinals moved into the latest reincarnation of Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis. It’s the third stadium of that name in the city, replacing Busch Memorial Stadium, where the Cardinals played from 1966 to 2005. In addition to hosting 81 Cardinals home games every year, Busch Stadium has hosted several international soccer matches, concerts, and even an outdoor hockey game.

Best Places to Sit at Busch Stadium

While there are many great places to sit at Busch Stadium sporting events, the best of the best are club level seats in sections 241-257. These seats are not as close to the field as the 100-level seats, but they offer a clear, unobstructed view of the entire field. In addition to being able to see the field, these seats will also offer a perfect view of the St. Louis skyline, including the Gateway Arch, which sits beyond the outfield wall.

For the cheapest Cardinals tickets that still offer a great view, look for a seat in rows 3-5 of any 300-level section. These rows don’t have to worry about the railing obstruction the view but will close enough to the field to avoid feeling like you’re sitting in the nose-bleed section. The closer you can sit to home plate in the 300-level, the better the view and the more likely you’ll be protected from the sun in the late afternoon.

Tips for Visiting Busch Stadium

There are so many things to do before and after a Busch Stadium event, making it a great place to spend an entire day. For starters, the famous Gateway Arch is less than a mile away. Also, right across from the stadium is Ballpark Village, which features a two-story restaurant and the Cardinals Hall of Fame Museum. You can even buy tickets to watch the game there from across the street.

If you're headed into the park, enter from the northwest corner. This will force you to walk through the Plaza of Champions, which features statues of some of the biggest legends in Cardinals history, including Stan Musial, Bob Gibson, and Ozzie Smith.

Food to Try at Busch Stadium

If you choose to eat at Busch Stadium rather than a restaurant, you can still get classic St. Louis cuisine like toasted ravioli and pork steak sandwiches. There's also classic ballpark fare like burgers and hot dogs. Of course, you’ll be mad at yourself if you don’t try to the St. Louis Dog, which includes potato chips, cheese, and barbecue sauce on top of a hot dog.
