This casino and hotel, like so many others in Vegas, exists on the site of an even older one: the Tallyho hotel, constructed in 1962 and renamed the Aladdin in 1966. It lasted until 1997 when it was torn down to make way for a brand new Aladdin, which immediately ran into financial troubles. Planet Hollywood came to the rescue, buying out the now-bankrupt casino in 2003 and renovating it for a grand re-opening in 2007. The rest, as they say, is history.
